Did you know that Rick Perry received only 39% of the vote in the 2006 Texas gubernatorial election?
Granted, there were five other people running (three independents, one libertarian, and the candidate from the Democratic Party). But, seeing how Perry was considered to be the saving grace of the GOP in the 2012 presidential election, 39% is no great shakes.
